What to Know About Cannabis Extracts Before Consuming

Vaporizing, or ‘dabbing’, extracts are becoming an increasingly popular way to enjoy cannabis. If you’re a regular flower consumer and are unfamiliar with concentrates and extracts, they can seem intimidating at first. There are a few important things to understand about concentrates so you can be comfortable trying this method of consuming cannabinoids, such as benefits, potency, and procedures.

What is Dabbing?

If you’ve never done it, dabbing may seem daunting at first. Once you’ve seen it done and had a little practice, you will easily be able to fine tune your technique to your particular device combination.

Dabbing is the flash vaporization of cannabis concentrates. Extracts are applied to a hot surface and the subsequent vapor is inhaled. Cannabis extracts are a lot more potent than flowers, so a little bit goes a long way.

Generally, dabbing is done with a water pipe attached to a ‘nail’, a quartz, titanium or ceramic surface on which the concentrate is placed and heated to vaporization temperature with a torch or electric coil. In order to properly vaporize without combustion, the concentrate must not go under or over the range 400-700 degrees Fahrenheit. You can see examples of this in our videos section.

What the benefits of cannabis concentrates?

Cannabis concentrates and extracts have so many additional benefits to offer from the traditional smoking method. They’re a more efficient use of the plant on your body and budget. They offer cleaner, smoother experience when used correctly. Finally, they provide much more discretion when consuming on-the-go, in the form of convenient, portable vaporizers and cartridges.

Some of the main benefits of concentrates lie in the extraction processes, which strips out all unnecessary plant material and impurities with a combination of solvents, heat and pressure. Most supercritical, closed-loop system extraction processes remove the compound and plant matter not necessary for psychoactive effects and your body’s endocannabinoid system, such as pesticides, contaminants, and residual solvents.

Because of this, vaporizing extracts are more attractive to health-conscious consumers than smoking the plant, which causes combustion and unwanted byproducts. Studies have shown that vaporizing cannabis extract is up to 300% more effective in getting cannabinoids into the body then smoking a joint.

What Are DabTabs™?

A DabTab™ dosable dablet is a brand new way to consume cannabis concentrates/extracts that help take a lot of the guesswork out of dabbing. They are made from a highly pure, porous ceramic that is precisely measured to hold an exact amount of concentrate. The dablet is used to hold and transport the extract while keeping liquid extract dry to the touch in any environment.

Dablets are a cleaner  and more convenient way to vaporize extracts while retaining the full terpene profile and cannabinoid spectrum of the original plant. Dablets help keep the extract from reaching combustion temperatures when used as recommended and with approved devices. They are the first and only lab-certified cannabis delivery system engineered to hold an exact amount of concentrate, so consumers can track and measure their consumption.
